YOUTH PROGRAM 2025 CONTEMPORARY DANCE EDUCATION
APPLY NOW

At NON, we embrace dance in all its forms. Chloe and Davide’s vision is to establish NON as a true ‘House for the Arts,’a vibrant space for creativity and community.
Alongside their performances, they are excited to launch the first iteration of NON’s Contemporary Dance Education Program in 2025, fostering the next generation of talent and expanding access to the art of dance.
Chloe and Davide will coach, nurture and guide fifteen pre-professional students, two days a week from 8.30am - 3pm. Over the course of twenty weeks, students will be taught the following:

PILATES & CONDITIONING

Sustainability and well-being are vital for a long-lasting career in the arts. Understanding how to prepare and care for the body is essential, and Chloe will equip students with these skills through Pilates, which they can apply throughout their training and professional journeys.

BALLET CLASS

1. Iohna Loots, a former ballerina with the Royal Ballet, will share her knowledge and experience by leading a ballet class that emphasizes academic approaches, focusing on the fundamental roots of dance.

2. Davide and Chloe’s ballet class will take a contemporary approach, helping students understand how ballet techniques can be applied within a contemporary context. This skill set is essential for auditions with contemporary companies and is relevant in today’s evolving artistic landscape.

CONTEMPORARY CLASS

Contemporary dance is continuously evolving, requiring dancers in the current landscape to be both skilled and versatile. We will provide a range of fundamental approaches, including floor work, partnering, and improvisation, to enhance their adaptability and skill level.

ARTISTIC PRACTICE

In creative practice, students will broaden their grasp of artistic expression and refine their distinct creative voices. This will be achieved through engagement with diverse choreographic techniques, such as improvisation and task based exercises. Developing collaborative skills and gaining hands-on experience in teamwork will be essential to their growth.

PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE

Students will acquire the essential skills to be prepared for careers in the evolving arts landscape. Mentoring will be central to the focus on industry insight, adaptability, well-being, and creative growth. Guest teachers/artists will participate, sharing their expertise and mentoring the students through the program. At NON, we believe that it is essential for students’ training and development to experience a professional company environment and its methods of working. Students will have the opportunity to engage with the NON Company’s work and development throughout the program by joining us in the studio. This will occur on other days of the week, aligned with the company schedule.

PERFORMANCE

Students will have the chance to showcase the skills and artistry they have cultivated throughout the program in a public performance on June 28th.
