NON PRESENTS THE INNOCENCE OF A DREAM

Envisioned and directed by renowned choreographer and dancer and now film maker Davide Di Giovanni, this captivating work explores the intricate balance between vulnerability and resilience, transporting audiences through a mesmerising journey of movement, emotion, and imagination.

The Innocence of a Dream marks a bold step for NON as they transition from stage to screen, showcasing their signature fusion of contemporary dance and evocative storytelling in a cinematic format. The film is a reflection of the company’s ongoing mission to redefine artistic boundaries while connecting deeply with audiences.

The Innocence of a Dream reimagines classical myth through a modern lens, inspired  by the faun mythology and Nijinsky’s ballet L’Après-midi d’un Faune. The film follows three mystical figures—a nymph and two fauns on a journey through a moonlit night. Setting the the scene for the exploration of love, acceptance, and freedom. By depicting the nymph as a strong, independent character, it challenges traditional myths and societal norms around love and desire.

The Innocence Of A Dream premiered at the Art Gallery Of NSW in December 2024.
